I don't know alot about UK prices, but you might be able to find a 9600 pro for around 70.
A cursory glance at UK eBay turned up:

^^decent card and pretty cheap, I guess.

Misc Info

i 'm not familiar with the euro/dollar conversion so

Acaila that does not look like a 9600 in any way, it looks like a SFF 9200.

EDIT: oh its a 9600 SE, SE stands for Shitty Edition. Also Ebay is not a good place to buy parts.

Save up a bit and the good midrange cards lei 5700ultra and 9600XT will drop to much lower prices soon, as well as the higher end cars like the 5950, and the 9800pro/xt

70 Euro's is a little under $82-85 US i think. Problem is most computer parts, especially video cards are more expensive in EU. Overseas shipping and tax would kill any savings buying it in US either.

So for that price, your best bet is along the lines of a 9200 Pro 128. Or if you can find a 9600 NP 128 in your price range. I'd look for a good used deal on any local for sale forums. A GF4 4600 would be a good for that price.

Sorry to bump and old thread, but i don't know if you ever got a new card or not. Guys, he said 70, not 70. That's 70 pounds sterling - approx $110, depending on exchange rate. One place i suggest, Hezzy, for ALL your hardware needs is www.ebuyer.co.uk and www.dabs.com. E.g., the best card i could find for only 60 inc VAT is this amazing radeon 9600 pro - http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=56697 - Which is a very nice price - under $100.
