Nah, I think the devs want to get rid of ANY NPC and those would count as NPC. It would also distract from the war and probably raise their rating. Animal killings a fast way to "M"

that would be cool if they wild life. it would be better if you could use them as target practice and if they could attack you (random and rare).

Say your defending a base from an attack and you see a pack of bears so you shoot them then they go on a rampage killing the attackers

Animals should indeed exist, and if the official forums didn't suck so much ass, we could all start a post or something to the matter, suggesting it, but it would be flammed like no tomorrow..

No, the devs are keeping out everything that doesn't make the game more fun to improve framerate and ping. Unfortunately, as much as I agree that animals would be kinda cool, I also understand the devs decision because they serve no real purpose.
