You are going to need a lot more then 256MB of ram in order to run PS. If you want to run it decently I would recommend at least 1GB of ram. That should help your FPS out a lot. Your GFX card is a good card but you are bottle necking at your cpu speed and you memory. BTW, until then, i would recommend turning off triple buffering as this eats a lot of memory.
Secondly if you are getting a ping over 200ms then it is most likely your internet connection. Make sure you are on the server nearest you. Emerald - East, Markov - West, Werner - Europe PS - wrong forum - this should probably be in the tech forum |

yeah to be honest dude... that machine ur runnin isnt so hot. the new vid card isnt bad but your problem my friend is your RAM. Buy some more! Get at least 512 megs of RAM, or go to a Gig and you'll do much better. Also a 2 Ghz P4 is a little on the low end, you might want to consider something better than that down the road. But for now, I would just suggest getting another 256 meg stick to match your current one. Make sure you get a stick of ram thats the same as your current one down to the model number, and you should see a significant performance increase.
PS- Dont use Triple Buffering, it doesn't do anything but make lag worse when you don't have a lot of system memory. |
