As im having a hard time to decide which X800 is better of these. Im asking you, here are the options:
--- Abit Radeon RX800 XT 256MB Video-In/Out/DVI or... Connect3D Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition 256MB DDR - VGA+DVI-I+TV-out+VIVO Which one is better? Edit: Also, just the answer..nothing like "OMG!! WHY you waste ur money on that!! LOLZOR!" ^-^

I'm sorry but it has to be said... the X800 XT is NOT worth it at all... the Pro can be easily modded for about 100 USD cheaper... see post here. Its worth reading, and it is a post by Rob, he helped me build my new system...
Once again, I'm just trying to save you the money...

Thx for the answers so far, found one that could fix that Pro to XT. He has to take a closer look on the instructions first, he isnt in town atm. So ill have to wait for him to get back, anyways...thanks for the answers that have been posted so far. Im still accepting more answers to the question. If someone has got any other opinions.

Basically, all the cards you will buy are the same, but sell for varying prices because of the stuff the manufacturer throws in as well (IE - "free" software, which isn't free and usually crap stuff, it's just to make more money). They're all build to the same specification, and all have the same performence. Some manufacturers will buy their cards off of others, Creative purchase their cards from MSI then rebrand them. When they have reviews of the same card on sites such as hardocp.com or tomshardwareguide (which are both crap sites :P), you will notice the difference is minimal (IE - 1 or 2%, which can be down to many things, such as the quality of the cards on a days production) but these sites will still rave on, "advising" people to buy the best "x brand" card, when there's really nothing in it. Get the cheapest one you can find, then love and cherish it forever.

Like said above, the heart is the same.
Basically ATI licenses out blueprints of the pcbs, makes the gpus, and oems go from there.

meh, some companies use better quality chips I hear, but overall, yeah, cheaper is always better on OEM cards
edit- if they are both the same price, go with abit, they are a well-known and respected card manufacturer Last edited by Electrofreak; 2004-07-21 at 06:24 AM. |
