yes, i figure a pc game can have a 8 year life span... and in 8 years in the console world, there will be 2 new systems in that span... so yes, HL2 wont make a big bang, like halo 2, but halo 2 will fizzle out in 2-3 years, hl2 will be arround for atleats 5 years

Apples and Oranges. Half-Life 2 obviously wins that contest because it's neigh impossible to mod an X-Box game. We're talking about the initial quality. Otherwise it's an uneven comparison.

The more i think about it Half Life 2 is gonna be what i want, I wont buy it till the DoD source releases though.

cant decide, if Half Life 2 lives up to part one, and Doom 3 lives up to Doom 2, Doom3 wins, however, i forsee more of these new kid gamers, whom never even played the original doom or wolfenstien for that matter will pick HL2 because of the name.

but it is also important to note that these are almost two different generas, sure, both are FPS, but Doom3 is a horror game, and HL2 isnt, to my knowlege that is. Doom3 wins graphicaly too i think.

doom came out on my little sister's fifth birthday, and i've played them all, i still have my floppycopy of ultimate doom (but no floppy drives).

half-life, however, was better, imo.
