NC max sucks

You guys dont get it..... I know the VS max has a better shield. But having a shield isint anything special. The other max's have something that you cant get any other way.

Where does it say the two shields are the same, or even similar?

With the huge penalty (50% fire rate) for the NC shield, I would very much guess it is far more powerful then the implant one. Maybe with the shield up it blocks 95% of the incoming fire, and maybe the implant just absorbs 25% of the damage. You really have no clue the on how they relate, and I doubt the NC MAX unique ability isn't unique.

Personal shield = Toyota Pickup. It absorbs a few hits and might make the difference between life and death.

NC MAX shield = Hummvee. It can absorb *enormous* amounts of damage, can be toggled on and off easily, doesn't consume stamina...and it even looks different than the "Personal Shield" implant effect.

It's sexier, more powerful, and only the NC MAX has it. I simply don't see the issue here...

It's unique to the NC MAX.

It could be considered bland, as there is a similair implant.

But they are still nowhere near the a swap for each other. They even have different art. :P

Sony won't let the NC max ability be stupid. Everyone will be separate but equal... wait that's never worked in the history of man

They said that the shield implant blocks damage with stamina on a 1 point of stamina for each point of damage blocked ratio, and I can tell from screens that people only have 100 stamina and 100 life. Now, making certain assumptions about the way the game works, we can guess that the shield implant is only good if you're not being shot by a really heavy weapon that will drain your stamina in 2 seconds flat. NC shield, however, has been said to be based on a seperate charge and blocks everything (I THINK that's what they said, I don't know for sure if it blocks EVERYTHING). So NC MAX has frontal invulnerability for a certain amount of TIME, everyone else can only, AT THE MOST, get a second lifebar worth of hits in with the shield implant before they run out of stamina and can't do anything (I think that's what stamina loss does, might only affect movement though). So you can see why the NC shield would be 100% better. Still not as cool as a Vanu MAX though.

Edit: I looked it up, and it just says that it can take an "amazing" amount of punishment. So I guess it's not invulnerability, but when you consider that the NC can use both shields its still pretty uber.

I'm not sure about that, I think I heard somewhere that they could be used at the same time...doesn't matter though, a smart person would want to spread their shields out over the most amount of time to maximize the effect anyway.
