Also, when browsing throu music, the songs show up as file names, so if you're going to have to look for a specific song, you'll have to wait a couple seconds for it to scroll the name if the file name is like so: Artist - Song.mp3
Ipod: Automaticly sorts by albums, artists, genres, composers, etc. |

With a simple right click and a left click, the iRiver will too. Personally I like to have my songs stored in folders, a la "my music", makes me think of how similair it is to a PC. Listening the HDD boot up when you turn it on is also awesome :P

that is one slight fault. the iriver scans the HD when booting up. takes 5-10 seconds at most. but yeah, it does sound damn cool
the ipod's interface is EASIER, but not better. i can get to any feature in 2 seconds (seriously, buttons have 2 features depending on if you click or hold, and the joystick had 3, for R/L/U/D, click, and hold.) with a little practice, I can find anything i want as fast as, if not faster, than your average ipod user. But as far as I know, you never commonly use the other features. If I want, I could by a ipod mic for 5-10 bucks. |

There are no iPods or iRivers in Soviet Russia.

Believe it or not, I do sue it when your not around
I record notes becasue im lazy the iriver remote is a lot nicer than the ipods. you can do ANYTHING on the remote, than you can do on the main device. ipods remote is a mere volume up/dwn, next track, play/pause, stop. dosent even show the song info. iRiver comes standard with: Backlit remote control with 4-line display (see above) iRiver earphones (nice, but I suggest your own) Carrying case (very nice, protects the iriver, and hides it if you think its ugly ) Installation software CD (not even needed. I never used it. plug and play for the win.) AC adapter (ipod dosent include this, you have to buy seperately or use firewire all the time [not good fro traveling]) USB 2.0 cable (dosent require firewire ports, but can use them [sold seperately]) Line-in cable (cool for recording music off other players (radio, cd, other hard drives, your comps speakers. etc.) External microphone (cool for recording stuff at higher quality than the internal mic. gets rid of the sound of the hard drive you can *occasionally* hear when using the internal.) Printed user manual ( very helpful, required reading to really learn how to operate at full capacity.) |
