Lovers attract worried police

British police sprang into action after receiving an emergency 999 (911) call from a woman who sounded to be in distress. Operators at the other end of the line heard a woman who seemed crying and a mans voice.

Acting quickly in fear of a domestic violence situation officers from Durham in Northern England traced the number and rushed to the scene.

When they arrived they found a rather embarrassed couple who had apparently been making love when a foot had landed on the phone a few times dialing the emergency number. Police were relieved that the couple seemed to be getting along just fine.
