It's great to see soo many people jumping the Bohica bandwagon.
A week ago you guys had no problem with PSU. Today you figure the forum is sinking and now you want to move to Bohica and talk crap about PSU and cmplain about it's moderation? Wasn't it the PSU community who wanted more moderators not too long ago? We even had a vote to see who would become moderator? I believe electrofreak and earlydawn were the contendors. Someone should dig that thread up.

Th3 Government: r3d - Hamma, I did not fucking leave cause dhark did, will you get it out of your mind already? I told you that was the icing on the cake. The new moderation is horrible, you're not seeing anything wrong cause you're the head of it. If I would've really cared SO MUCH to dharks ban, I would've left then. Not now. Its 98% of the moderation I am leaving.
Th3 Government: say that is from me From r3d

First off, the call for more Moderators, in my mind, was a call for more moderators online at one time so threads wouldnt slip through the cracks like they had a habit of doing. Not for stricter moderation.
Second off, people, please, if you get an IM from one of these fuckwits asking you to post an AIM message for them, dont. It'd be different if they got banned against their will, but they wanted to be banned, they silenced themselves. Now they need to learn to shut the fuck up. Third, I think looser moderation is in order, but Hamma's made his ruling, and it's something I have to respect. He's always taken PSU in a positive direction, and I have to be confident in his conviction to keep the moderation the way it is. |

I am going to bury all arguments here:
1. Times change. Sometimes more moderation is needed, sometimes less. I don't believe firing moderators is the answer: I believe a general more lax status is what we need. The current amount of moderators is fine. 2. I do not believe that Doop is to blame for all of this. If you are an asshole to someone, you shouldn't get by because you're funny. 3. On the same token, Dhark & Co were very funny (when you weren't the target). This is why they are missed. However, to quote Charlie Murphy, he was "a habitual line-stepper." In the end, people remember them for P-CON and other shenanigans, not the wrongdoings. This is why all of a sudden there is a demand for him back. If it can be made clear that he is to stop the abuse, then we can let him back in, maybe. 4. Hamma- you're missing the point. A lot of them specifically mentioned reasons other than the Dhark IRC ban for leaving. 5. I won't mention any names, but I beg to differ when two people are in a flame war that the best solution is to ban them both. Maybe one is right. Not always, but maybe one is right. 6. Why are the vets leaving "all of a sudden"? They aren't. Why are there less vets? They sense that PSU has changed. They sense that in the wake of the flame war infatadas, PSU's fun atmoshpere was castrated. I tend to agree on them that light flame and banter is fine, and their view that a thread lock because two people are debating in the Lounge is preposterous. This is what we mean by less moderation: not less moderators, not letting the banned back in, not softening up on abuse- we mean that flame wars shouldn't be stopped before they happen. Because they don't always happen. Do I agree with Hamma? No. Will I play by his rules? Yes. In the end, this will all iron over. The goal was a non-elitist community, after the TribalWar disaster. We need to strike a balance between the vets leaving in disgust and casteism. After all, who says the best members WERE HERE when it started? I Hate Pants, SDM, Yours Truly, Triggar, martyr, et cetera...we weren't here when it started, and we're relatively popular. By the same token, the forum needs some background and culture.

The gun katas. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element. The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly. Last edited by AztecWarrior; 2004-12-01 at 12:48 AM. |

Umm... wow. This thread can be its very own soap opera.
Cant we all just post threads, make jokes, discuss topics, and have a good time on the forums? Why bring the bullshit of real life drama and poltics to PSU? sigh. To quote Monty: "This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Lets not bicker and argue about who killed who"
