Does anyone but me see a serious flaw in tower design? CC at one end, spawns at the other. the entrance between them? No wonder a tower is never successfuly defended, so I propose..
UNDERGROUND TOWERS.. basically dig a hole in the ground, take a tower turn it upside down, block up all the doors and put the tower in the hole. Have 3 metres of the tower stickin out the hole with doors. Something along that idea. Something that means: ground floor: nothing 1st floor down: nothing 2nd: cc 3rd: nothing 4th: spawns ideas/critisms? |

wow, thatd be really cool! like every other tower could
be an underground tower... and I think that the CC should be one floor above the spawn room and we could have like, ground towers(Ground repair) =P gun towers (wall turrets) and Watch towers (Really Really deep) and call them like, heavy bunkers instead of towers...

Towers (and bases) aren't meant to be the most tactically sound buildings out there. I believe the whole point of the way towers are designed is to make them difficult to defend once the enemy is attacking the interior of the tower itself. I, personally, favor the poor tactical design of the current towers, as it expediates the fall of an attacking force once they're pushed back to the tower, and prevents long, pointless meatgrinder fests as the attackers try to take the tower.
Your idea would simply prolong the duration of tower fights, but I hardly doubt it would make a difference overall. Once your tower is under siege it's generally only a matter of time before you lose, as the enemey will be bringing up vehicles and so on to make pushing out of the tower impossible anyway. |

Making towers themselves harder to take won't do much, especially considering that tower drops done by infantry in galaxies basically turn towers into the same layout as the proposed underground towers anyway. |
