The Fate of Sanctuary Strikes

I was whoring around the OF looking for news and came across a thread about Sanctuary strikes. Someone was wondering if they are in the game, and if not when will they be. Sporkfire replied with this:

In the near term, they are off the schedule. Strikes seem like a great idea, but they have to be tied to some other system to make them fun, meaningful and a worthy goal to pursue, while at the same not completely disadvantaging the Empire that gets struck. It will be some time before they are implemented, if at all.

This is disappointing :\ Sanctuary strikes is something I personally have always looked forward to. I'm sure I am not alone with that either.
