They along with all the Nvidea and Radeon crap was all still on my hardrive. What do i do when a format to COMPLETELY clear my hardrive?

Boot to dos:
format c: (assuming c is your main drive letter) If you're using winxp it can format right from the install...

You still need to format the c: drive. The existing drive partition needs to be deleted. After you do that you can begin installing windows. It will prompt you to create a new drive partition. Just go through the steps and then it will begin installing the OS.

What OS are you using? There's no need to manually format with XP.
