How will PS compare to Unreal Tourny and CS? Will flying be similar to Combat Flight Sim? Will they have joystick support for Flying? I need answers, I know nothing . If they change dates post it, cause I be sellin my butter

UT: Maybe close to this. Though battles will be rarer.
CS: You'll die a LOT slower. No idiotic one-two shot kills. Except when being hit by a rocket.

FlightSim: Probably not, but if they want the lighter aircraft to be efficient at flight/ground support/escort, they'll need to have something better than Tribes2.

Say I wanted to go stealth-esque into a base on a solo mission. (I -oh- so hope that the Tribes people don't fuxx0r up sneaking like it is in Tribes so that it makes it nigh impossible to do more than about one thing in a base before getting toasted.) Is it possible to bail out of, say, a skeeter and set it to auto-destruct? Like, I bail out right over the base... The skeeter will either fall straight down (letting people know I just bailed out of it) or inertia will carry it forward a certain distance away (I'm hoping it's the second one). But say I don't want that, and would rather it just blow up. Can I set self-destruct?
Dont know about self-destructs (dont think so) but when you bail from a vehicle it will travel until it stops or is stopped (eg building or tree or shot down etc). Ground vehicles will gently deaccelerate (as if the throttle was released) and airborne craft will slow down and decend slowly finally hovering above the ground at a stop. Or obviously if they crashed they burn

Planes crash and burn when you bail unless it is an disconnect for a Galaxy pilot, in which case it autolands.

i tought the planes stopped and auto landed if the pilot left them up in the air.

Pretty sure it was only Galaxies and only if the pilot lost connection. They just put it in to make sure a pilot losing connection wouldn't kill all the poor SOBs inside.

Could be, but having an escoring reaver pilot go LD and then have him crash and burn into friendlies would also suck....

I think it would be cool if walls blew up like red faction, but it might just be 2 big of a strain on the comps and servers. I still could dream though.

and i do belive that bailing makes ur plane go boom, but wait for Hamma to make sure of that. It would be to stupid if any plane would land when you bailed, i think that would be against the whole point. Galaxies, yeah i do belive they should auto land, dont want a disconnecty to come back on to find out he has 15 people that are really pissed at him.

I don't think it would be too much of an issue as long as you aren't directly below the vehicle traveling at an identical horizontal velocity.

uhm you just have to be there at the time of impact, you don't have to mach the speed and velocity to get hit something falling down...

And it'll happen, murphys law pwns all =/

Well if you are traveling somewhere with the plains, then you have to be underneath the vehicle going at the same horizontal velocity. If you are in the middle of the assault, it would be Murphy's Law to get hit.

I really wouldn't like the idea of bailing out causing planes to autoland, since it ruins a good amount of stealth tactics you can use with skeeters.

well if you bail from a plane its not likely its gonna just drop from the sky like it lost all horizontal velocity!

Im sure I read somewhere that it just coasts down unless it hits something... ill see if I can dig it up again

You do not have to be traveling in the same horisontal speed, you just have to be there at the point of impact... the crashing plane might catch up whit something going slower than it or hit some thats stationary.

You have to be going at the same horisontal speed and direction if they both started at the same time from the same spot but how likely is that...
