Which honestly makes a lot of sense not just lore wise, but gameplay wise as well.

When player built bases get brought in this would be a great way to do it. The Outfit drops in the "Cornerpost" buildings and the main Facility, and have to actually build up the defenses and support structures; giving the enemy a chance to engage the structure and try to prevent it's construction while offering the outfit building the base a chance to respawn and light defensive positions to protect their claim.

So much info, and all I did was skim the pictures.

-Artillery variant of the prowler there, I think. The gun looks like it's just locked down for moving.

-NC pistol looks like a monster. O.o

-There was a highlight quote about "unfollowing" incompetent commanders. So I guess there will still be large area command broadcast channels, but you can turn off all of the idiots.

I think you're misinterpreting. The picture is of an infil, but i think it's actually just giving you a list of roles you could play as a soldier. I mean it lists armor too.

It was Higby, if I recall correctly. He was talking about extreme long term goals, and mentioned the idea of making it possible for walls to be worn down by fire and reconstructed by engineers.

someone misread this and went "omg sniper cloakers? AWESOMEWTFBBQ!"

SPEC OPS some of the many ways you can specialise your skills

Infantry
Sniper: plug fools who step into your scope.
Recon: cloack up, backstab and sabotage.

being an infil myself the idea of cloak sniping is interesting, but i'll have to say no on it. anyways like Vash said they meant that as an infantryman you can be a sniper or if you want to recon you can be an infil

Actually I thought it was cool and it reads this way twice.

"You can really spec out in different ways," Matt says. "You can spec out an Ifiltrator class to be a really sneaky, gadgety, sabotage-focused (don't know this word) and bring a bunch of C4 and motion detectors and sneak behind enemy lines, stab people and blow up their tanks. OR you could spec him to be a dedicated wilderness sniper character.

It's not wrong. Right now our sniper class is infiltrator, but they're not firing while cloaked, or even able to cloak effectively while loaded out as an effective sniper... Man, I can't wait to talk more about our infiltrator.

lol, I think it sounds great... I was kinda thinking how could a sniper stay stealth so I can use one while assaulting a base and not have them get ganked by a mossie problem solved thank you.

Edit- And I figured it would at least be something similar to the way Huxley was going to do it? I quit reading about that game... So i dunno if it was ever made.

Why wait? Jobs are overrated.

Edit: I better see an MCG by the end of this week!

Re: PC Gamer UK December Issue & Interview with Higby on Scale

Well, I was reading the article pretty directly. Now, Basti might be correct in that the ARTICLE got it wrong, but the exact quote in the article is:

"You can spec out [an] Infiltrator class to be a really sneak[y], gadgety-focused [guy] and bring a bunch of C4 and motion detectors and sneak behind enemy lines, stab [people] and blow up their tanks. Or you could spec him to be a dedicated wilderness sniper character."

That's not very ambiguous at ALL. So, to those of you who said that I misinterpreted what I read, please actually do some research before you call me alarmist. Now, as I said before, Basti (who responded NORMALLY to my post), could be right in that the article got it wrong. But I mean, this is quoted as coming DIRECTLY from Higby. The quote starts out with "Matt says."

Does it mean that Infiltrators get the Bolt Driver? Not necessarily. However, it says, RIGHT there, that Infiltrators can be snipers. An interesting tidbit, to say the least.

But they can't cloak and snipe at the same time.

Thanks for clearing that up, Higby. For those of you who called me crazy, you better back off, cuz Higby's watching! o.O

And yes, we are VERY excited to hear more about the Infiltrator, Higby.

Also, please show some love for the Combat Engineer! I want my bombs!
