Lasher needs to be a VS ES SA weapon. Worst idea for a "Heavy Assault" gun ever, but not a horrible idea for a gun in general. It just shouldn't be as powerful head on as a HA gun.

Do you even think before you post?
They can still use afterburn to escape if they arent stupid. and its pretty hard for anyone to get the drop on them if they are camping the the doors.

Really the only thing that can kill air outright before they have a chance to escape/kill you is the skyguard and maybe an AA MAX if the land is right.

My main request is that devs make balancing an internal decision only and that they don't listen to the people complaining on the forums. I want people like Traak to be among the people ignored by the devs. As for me ignore me too when it comes to balance. I will admit I never at any point thought the lasher was op

The devs so far have done a sterling job of interracting with the community and I can't see any of them taking the likes of Traak with more than a pinch of salt.
Hamma has set a great example of how to do this, Basti gathered some good questions from everyone , then one person representing the community puts those questions forward and you get an ordered, sensible response with no nerdragers taking over the plot .
Don't forget too, with the current engine they can now track pretty much every bullet flying around the screen in real time, and can see if something needs a tweak or that its just some moron incapable of playing the game and cries cheat all the time to a GM .

I can't agree with this more, the violent balance shifts brought about due to forum QQ'ing are something that drive me away from the game more than once. People like Trakk who are, i'd imagine, some kind of cloaker character need to realize we adapt to his play-style by:

Killing you with an airplane. Popping a reveal, locating you, and then flying around with Darklight in the revealed area because you were silly enough to not move.

Additionally, bailing is my favorite play-style, it affords me a fast response capability at the sacrifice of being an agile class with limited inventory, I never saw this as a problem.

Also I never saw OS's as a problem, in fact they're something that sets PS apart from other FPS games, it was like a COD perk years before that system existed. Was there an AMS troubling you? Nuke it. It's their fault for not moving it after the position may have been compromised and if you can't escape an OS, that's just you being not very good.

What else did PS do wrong?

I agree advertising, and the balance shifts that were at times violent, and terribly thought out. I really hope these people aren't touching the new Planetside, but sadly I still see some of them on the dev team. Hopefully they've been relegated somewhere harmless...

The pacing was pretty bad, driving a vehicle across a continent to have it explode, and no way to re-spawn was frustrating at times.

I've noticed that the people who adore the stuff that I don't, are usually the killwhore class. If they had ever done any support, they would have noticed more of the cheats and exploits.

I notice them more because I did a lot of cloaking and support. I also mention them more, because I don't use them. You aren't going to get a lot of agreement from cheaters. You might get a lot of ridicule, however, explained as attacks on your ideas, which I understand. Cheaters are fundamentally morally sick people, and cheating at some game is just one symptom. To expect them to behave honorably in a forum isn't really realistic. It's like asking NAMBLA members to write child protection laws.

If there was an equivalent to the cowardly OS, such as "all planes in a 5km radius are vaporized" then they would be against it, but there isn't.

Now, if they replaced the OS with the Nuclear Sparrow, with a 5km radius, that would be awesome. It would be about as inescapable for planes as the OS was for the AMS driver and the people who just spawned.

Somehow I don't think the pilots would be so swift to extol its virtues as they seem to be about the OS. Of course they loved OS's. They never had anything at stake if one happened.

There complaining and there's well structured balance posts. i was trying to find my HA balance post with like 7 pages of of "best balance post ever" but it appears to have been deleted out of awesomeness.

But I like to hunt low flying aircraft with my AA max.
