Now that I think again, the voice macro system is a good backup system, but is pretty antiquated by now.
The spotter system that most FPSes use now is more powerful and easier to use. You just point your reticule at an enemy and press the spot key. This is what happens: 1. You yell out the voice macro "Enemy heavy assault incoming!" 2. The enemy appears on the minimap for a few seconds 3. Some arrow or other obvious indicator appears over their head making them easier to see for a few seconds You could do even better for Squad Leaders. They also get a Command Spotting mode that has similar effects: 1. You yell out a command "Attack the enemy assault" 2. The blip on the minimap is a mission WP (permanent as long as the targeted enemy is on radar) 3. All the usual HUD elements for directing squad members to their next WP trigger. (permanent as long as the targeted enemy remains on radar) Anyone killing the enemy completes the squad mission and gets bonus XP. This would have to be on a cooldown so SLs can't give the bonus XP for every enemy infantry that's nearby. They would need to use the command when it's most needed (like a particularly important or dangerous threat) Last edited by Big J Money; 2011-11-03 at 02:27 PM. |

Now, just wondering. Will some macros automatically be used, like if a sniper shot is heard near you, your character will automatically say. "Sniper!!" or "Incoming Sniper Fire!!"
Or if a rocket is fired near then. "Incoming rocket" or "Explosive inbound!" Even better, if a grenade lands near you or a teamate. "Grenade!!!" or "Hit the deck, grenade!!" Something that happens automatically if you arn;t normally fast enough to say something or don't use a headset so you can still provide some situational awareness without yelling into the headset when other people are doing it as well. |

You have to yell it out with your hot keys. PS2 seems to be taking the less automated route, as in taking away engie unmanned turrets etc... |
