outside the usa it´s also a problem.
in germany you may do this but as soon as you show it off in the public you are screwed (if it´s not a convention or other event where fake guns are common)
even better in the netherlands. you may not even possess any kind of toy gun that is not painted in neon bright pink, orange or yellow. they find it in your trunk, you are screwed ;-) even on conventions. i witnessed how the police raided a starwars convention to collect all trooper blasters!
hard times for any reenactment fans of any kind. a friend of mine was almost arrested because he left his house in a stormtrooper armor, carrying his resin mg-34 replica. stupid police didn´t even know what starwars is.
i´ve got some old scifi toyguns, too. if one of them resembles a ps2 gun, i will likely do a nc paintjob. right now they are all in starwars mode.
