Well I don't no if it would work or not but I'll fire away,
I remeber playing a game called knight online when I was younger. well the ideal is that once a month everyone on there empire could vote for a empire leader and you only be a empire leader if you was leader of a outfit. So once a month you vote for that outfit to run the show that month, So people can say thank you for your outfit foutstanding job that month. A emipre leader would get some leadership powers of somkind They did this in knight online but with clans and vote a king/queen and they have special horses in the battles ect and add or lower taxes for when earning money in the game. Can't remeber how it all worked fully. But that's the ideal Every month or week vote for outfit to run higher leadership. Last edited by Magpie; 2012-02-01 at 10:22 AM. |

^ as above.
Trust us it just would not work. Besides just because you are an outfit leader does not mean that you know what you are talking about. Take BHO and mike33 as a great example, a zergling outfit with so many members he would get the command all the time and trust me the guy was clueless. Outfit alliances can lead the game simples. |

Usually ineffective at directing the zerg with so many cr5s spouting what they want in globals. Though I do agree on not voting for general leadership. It appears that in ps2 those who wish to lead will have to spend certs and resources to be effective leaders. This will hopefully tone down the confusion often present in ps1.

CR5's in global chat in PS1 was bad enough, now you want to make it worse by electing someone via gaming a meta-vote? No thanks. |

Why not a rank system? not battle rank but something like the rank system in Dark Orbit (if anyone played it). It basically only allowed a certain population % to be a certain rank. and had just one leader. This would have to be tweaked and made a bit more relaxed of course as rank would actually have an impact on the game (leadership bonuses etc.) and the person who plays the most and has the most xp may not be the best leader. Also the DO system is super competitive and you can loose your rank, which sucks.

In Planetside, voting may would have worked, but in planetside 2, theres just a big potential of 2 much crap happening. Leaders appear when they are needed, not when they are chosen. |

If I want someone to lead me, I join his squad. If my squad leader thinks that more people would prove beneficial, he joins a platoon. If my platoon leader wishes to coordinate with others, he joins a battalion. If the battalion commander wishes to create an alliance with others, he joins an army.
There is your chain of command, there are your leaders. No votes. No mock elections. If you want to have someone guiding you, you join their group. As they gain more people, they unlock command abilities like the various chats, supply drops, the ability to make missions, additional mission objectives, etc. Last edited by CutterJohn; 2012-02-01 at 12:26 PM. |
