Very uninspired. Just a standard gun. Cool?

Am I the only one that isn't impressed at all with the weapons they've been showing? Very uninspired generic weapons, that are just supposed to be base models and heavily customized anyways.

These guns definitely aren't blowing my mind. They just look standard, generic weapons. I hope VS can deliver something interesting.

Re: The Mag-Shot Pistol

The number of people that used the mag-scatter in Planetside was less than half the number of cloakers on the field at any given moment.

I feel people are fighting change just to fight change. A desert-eagle for the NC just makes sense. At least it's useful up to mid range, not just knifing distance.

EDIT: And if it means anything, it does look like the entire front half of the gun can come clean off, hinting at possible modification into everyone's favorite, barely-ever-utilized mag-scatter.

I'm so curious as to what the new lasher would be like (if there is one) and what kind of customization it would sport.

When I get tired of aiming I like to put my feet up and kick it with my vanu brosephs

The Mag-Scatter, while a neat idea, just wasn't a good gun (not that either of the other pistols were any good either).
I'm much happier with more caliber.
It is interesting the the whole front of the gun looks detachable. Perhaps the scatter isn't completely dead.

At any rate, I'm ready to pop the heads of some TR with it.

As far as boring: Semi-auto Pistols...they look like semi-auto pistols. Yeah, go ahead and nitpick but you've got two rectangles, except in very extreme cases.
Perhaps they should have gone revolver...That be a quick and dirty way of putting shotguns shells back in it too.

I really hope there will be a scat variant. Other then that it looks pretty good.

It just looks like a Pistol. It doesn't look very interesting, at least not to me. They seem to be going with the more practical designs, as opposed to stylized ones we saw in PS1.

Which i'm ok with, we just need a slightly different mindset.

I know what you mean. When i'm tired of being underpowered, i backflip onto my NC SHMURF and kill people in under a second with my large, hard-to-use, automatic three barrelled shot-gun. Why aim when your target covers most of the screen, AMIRITE?

Sure, it looks a little boring, but it is just a standard side arm. I wonder how much we can customize it?

The pistol is pretty cool, but doesn't anyone think the pistols would be cooler if they weren't so "fat" or bulky? To me, there just seems to be a lot of metal on there for a pistol. Anyone else have thoughts on that?

It looks lame. I miss the old one - I really dug that horrifying BOOM. I also liked its look, with the big fat magazine under the barrel.

Did they forget to add the magazine or is that the final look of the pistol ?

It looks neat but that's only assuming the magazine is missing.

From the division on the barrel, it looks like it will reload in a similar way to PS1 (rotate mag/slide out/slide in/rotate in).

While I play VS and love the beamer, the scatter gun was oh so sweet with the loud bass shots.

Mabye it can chamber a 410 shell? You know like those .45/410 derringers.

I thought the same thing when I saw the pic. Revolvers are sturdy, dependable, easy to clean/repair and pack a bigger punch per bullet than a semi-auto. I'm not a fan of them IRL, but it sounds perfectly NC to me.

Well, yeah, the huge-caliber revolvers, for which an automatic pistol is not yet available.

I agree. A seven-shot .500 revolver would be SO NC.

Think I used more looted beamers than I did the mag scatter. So I don't have too much attachment to the old one to fight off here - and this looks ok to me

Id really like to see some screenshots of these guns with mods on. Taking it all with a pinch of salt at the moment as trying to imagine stuff being gaffa taped on all over it.
