Hey planetsiders,
Would you like to see planetside on a console? Vote using the poll. For me, I vote yes my reasons for this is, I don't see the point in sitting up to a desk with your face in the screen looking constipated when you can be on a sofa chilling like a pimp with a glass of milk and the big screen tv. But all depends if they dimmed it down, I play bf3 on Xbox but I've heard people saying its not as good as pc. What do you planetsiders think? Happy gaming, Magpie |

You can play PS2 at the same sofa and big TV screen all you want even on PC. Don't need a console for that.
that said, a strict no for me. Consoles have bottlenecked just about every PC title for too many years now (short from Crysis). I'm not gonna trade off features from PS2 just so they could dumb it down for consoles. Or what SKYeXile wrote, but we all know that won't happen and PC version will always suffer

Why can't you play relaxed on a PC?
I have a 32 inch TV sitting on my desk with a reclining chair and a 360 controller for ultimate console simulation lol. I frankly don't play that way though as I really don't enjoy using the controller, I do however still lean back while I use my keyboard and mouse. I find playing on the PC to be much more convenient and comfortable... You have the web a few clicks away, multiple types of programs used to talk to friends be it either text or voice chat, easy access to music, the privacy is great (no need to hog the living room all day), and you have several tools at your disposal for taking snapshots or recording footage. The only time you really have to leave anywhere is for food or bio breaks. Comfort is hardly an excuse when it comes to preferring playing on a console. Something a bit more accurate would be cost or exclusive title releases (which are really the only excuses you can have to playing on a console). |

Using your PC is as comfortable as you make it.
Your PC is also as powerful as you make it. Consoles however are only as powerful as they were designed to be half a decade ago. So I'll go with No If PS 2 gets ported to some future console that can run it I guess good for them. As long as it doesn't effect development of the PC version Though even then there might be issues, like most outfits use 3rd party VOIP so console players won't be able to get on comms (or join those outfits at all). (Or maybe VIVOX will work out. We still have to see how that turns out) Last edited by FastAndFree; 2012-02-10 at 05:05 AM. |

Sure why not. Just dont break stuff on the proper version to cater for a different platform.
I don't mind console focused games on my PC (or on my consoles!) but I RAAAGGEEEE if you break my PC focused games because of console limitations/design. |

Not for me. Delaying replacing my burnt out PC has lead to me purchasing Skyrim on the Xbox - it's been ok, but I've always felt like im invading everyone elses space when playing.
Works ok for an offline game I can good naturedly retire from if someone wants to watch, but I can't ever see myself being good natured about someone wanting to watch a film halfway through a base cap |

As I said in the last discussion we had on consoles;
Not bothered about consoles, so long as it isn't detrimental (as Exile said). What I would LOVE to see however is PS2 available over game streaming services like OnLive. |

NO NO NO
No matter how you spin it a console version of planetside 2 will worsen the PC version. Be it because its a port or simply that development will be split and/or limited by the console hardware (both the ps3 and the xbox are terrible in terms of hardware performance compared to PC's). Please don't give them ideas that people actually want this. |

Just to note, it would most logically be aimed as a "PlayStation 4" title if console was an option (and probably ported by a seperate team).
Also buying Skyrim on Xbox (above) is shocking to me. The mods on the nexus are aghast at your poor choice. Especially the body replacers. |

I would say yes... on these two conditions.
The game is completely, and absolutely, designed for PC. Menu's, movement, aiming, vehicles, etc are designed fully and nothing but for KB/M, without any consideration, in anyway, shape or form for a controller. Game is completed and released. THEN (AND ONLY THEN) do they start thinking about porting over. If PC and Console play together, there has to be absolutely no aim assist. Of any kind. No assistance for anything. |
