No, the other picture is absolutely, positively snow. You can see it in the dead trees, especially.

1. Ironically, the first place I ever touched snow was in Palm Springs, and if you don't know then I'll save you the effort of googling it...it's a desert. 2. Snow will only stick to a slope that is at most 70 degrees steep, which is still steep as hell. But that's why you don't see vertical snow very often like how you can't pile a stack of salt grains vertically. Having said all that, it could just be light colored dust. I personally think we still have only seen Indar this whole time. Just different parts of it. Last edited by Raymac; 2012-02-16 at 02:29 PM. |

I could say the same thing.
Dude, trust me, it's snow. Edit :: You know what, fine. If it's snow, then the trees look stupid. Dear Planetside 2 team, please get rid of dead snowy, Ceryshen looking trees in deserts immediately.

Us regulars here know this is sand because we know Indar will be the only continent available at launch, maybe.

At least I lightened the mood on this dumb snow discussion :P
We haven't seen a snow continent, but guys there will be one out I'm sure. They'd be dumb to not include a snow cont in this game. But cool cool Ray.. The tram is a big attraction for some odd reason... I just guess living there I never saw the "appeal".. still don't :P Great place to live though. At least was when I was there. |

Anyway, to get to the "one continent at lauch" thing: Im pretty sure this is for beta, as it seems like that only indar is somewhat done so far (we have not yet seen or heard of any other continent) |

But this talk about different biomes on continents got me thinking. It clearly wont be all the same as in planetside. Means, im not entierly sure if that is indeed a different continent in that night shot, or just a certain area on Indar. |

When I was stationed in West Texas, which wasn't a mountainous region, we had snow in the winter. And it was a shitty nasty desert. When I was stationed in Arizona down on the border with Mexico, where it was desert country, we had snow in the fall (freakish, but it was there) and in the winter. And it was, as I said, desert country. Oh hey. Afghanistan. The goddamned fucking desert. SNOW. So yeah. Whatever the pix show, there's fucking snow in fucking deserts. THE END. |
