Well, if I shoot a vangaurd's main gun at somebody, I don't wan't it hitting the ground 20 or so feet in front of me. I get the impression, from looking at the screenshots, that tank shells arc, but only slightly. My guess would be that you have to be a fairly good distance away before you have to worry about arcs.

I guess it depends on how high one can elevate the guns in the tanks, and how the drop works.
That is, if you were able to point your gun straight up, would the shot just keep going - in which case there isn't any indirect fire - or will it eventually come back down and hit you? If the latter, one could be able to lob shells, by elevating the gun enough - but being accurate could be very tricky. I suspect the former. Oh, and, you are welcome for the links. I think the more folks who are educated about arty in BF1942, the better. |
