Its the 28th today and i was really hoping for a email from SOE saying, " thank you for playing planet side from beta! Here is your beta key!!!!" but nope only spam asking me if i want a cock extension

Picked up the Magazine on my local campus bookstore, great article, even PC Gamer seems skeptical about it being done anytime soon.

It has a great little chart explaining how they're designing the empires, i'll scan that at some point so our euro buddies can see it.

Glad you enjoyed it although I would not scan it and post it online it's been done before and has been pulled offline. Not exactly fair for the magazine.

Not hoping too hard, but where did you see the beta key in the physical mag? I have the iPad edition. Glad to see Planetside 2 on the front page.

On the PC gamer forums they were saying something like you could send in proof of your sub to PC gamer and they would try to get you a key. *shrug* Might be worth a shot at checking out on the PC Gamer website for those of you with only digital subs.

Something to note, I don't know if anyone caught it.

But in the PCGamer article, it says that the PS2 Dev team is playing with hacking vehicles and the ability to hijack them.

Higs, Tray, can any devs give us a bit of info regarding this? Is hacking vehicles making a comeback?

Well my copy arrived today (29th) at my doorstep in the UK and it was shipped on the 22nd so not a bad turnaround considering it came all the way across the globe! Kinda afraid to open it!

Also got my order confirmation for the Raspberry Pi this morning!

Looks like the geek in me in onto a winner today

They said hijacking was too expensive on texturing ressources to be added to the game.

So, if it's coming back, I'd bet it's "only" for common pool vehicles (quad, lightning, lib, gal and sunderer)

The UK mags are totally different magazines, it shouldnt even have the article. They pretty much share nothing but the name.

They also said that hacking makes things much more difficult to balance.

It seems they want the 3 factions to play radically different from each other. The ability to include equipment from another faction could really throw their playstyles off and be almost impossible to balance effectively.
