And besides, when you look at Higby's gameplay. He survived being shot MANY times. The scenario was staged to a point. Nobody from the opposing team really utilized any cover. Sure, Higgles dead pretty fast a few times there too, but he did manage to duck for cover more often than not.

That's up to them. They've said over and over "We'll fix it in beta if it sucks" and I for one will hold them to it.

I agree with most people here...Please PLEASE wait for at the very least Beta before making accusations about floaty weapons, weak sound effects, and lack of recoil. Alpha's use a lot of placeholders.

Also keep in mind most of the people fighting were in light armor, TTK would be higher on other classes.

The TTK is about what I would expect for a light assault class.

If you're the kind of guy who wants to stand in front of the door and not use cover to your advantage, then you will be one of the first to die. Cover, cover, cover, cover. Poke your head around a corner and get it shot off. Or quickly scan your area and sprint to your next cover position.

You play the way you want. I prefer living as long as I can and taking out as many of the enemy as possible.

The game's still in alpha. A lot of the sounds and tweaking isn't even in the game yet. Give them a chance to polish it out

Expect and early beta though. They are going to need a lot of people to adequately test the game to get it to where it needs to be - simply by design necessity.

they have placeholders for sounds effect (bullets hits for example) and particle effects (you can see easily how they used ugly sprites for muzzles flashes just as placeholder)

bottom line, i'ts not like i want to have an headhache every clip i fire...
visual and sound stimuli are ok but you are not firing a damn ion cannon,i'ts a smg/rifle,it should be FUN first, and possibly effective in killing the opponent.

If you want to feel the gun shot and "the power" of it get bohemia's arma 2 with acemod2, every m24 round you shoot u are stunned for like 3 seconds..and i don't mean in the game...but IRL.

To be honest, we all knew the game would have to turn to the masses. the TTK is on par with most other shooters out there right now.

And im completely fine with it. As long as I can fight along side of 100s of my outfitmates all on teamspeak.

Re: Shooting looked so floaty and weak...

I made a topic similar to this a bit back showing this issue.

Umph of Combat

And from what I saw of the footage so far, they are still in a position to work on it. All "umph" from combat was lacking from the tanks to the rifles. But because its still in alpha this issue hasn't become an actual problem in the game yet. If we could get enough people on the forums to voice their opinion on it this might get solved in time. Although many aren't taking it very seriously this issue could make or break how the game compares to many other modern shooters.

That said everything else I saw in the footage was wonderful. I really like the direction the particle effects are going, the pace of combat seems just right, and flight was awesome. All the bugs we saw will be fixed by the time it's out of alpha.

It's hard to judge the combat itself and the TTK when he was probably shooting bots that were standing still.

Yes its my opinion. I enjoy sustained fights, and shoot outs.

You are right though, i need to see how it feels. I may be exaggerating, its slightly arcade.
Uh, he was killing people about as fast as you could with the gauss rifle in PS1.

Yea, TTK wasn't as much as people seem to think it was. It was pretty easy to take people out.

It's funny. I was actually thinking of how much BETTER the shooting seemed to feel compared to PS1.
