Musical score?

Any ideas on this? PS1 was a quiet and lonely place on the dusty trail, no background music. I would like each cont to have thier own theme (since there is only 3 at the minute) but would fade out when in combat or something. If not maybe just the faction 'safehouses' and menus.

Nothing was quite as epic as sitting down loading up planetside with the main theme playing.

Huh? No music is PS1?

PS1 had amazing background music. Would change tempo has the battle increased or the status of the base changed. It was great, probably the first game I actually left the music on.

Really hope Ferrone is back for the sequel.

You're the first I've heard say they dislike it.

DukeNukem claimed he knew Don was back due to some inside contact, but he's a drunken mess 90% of the time so I woudln't put much stock into it.

Though, Don wants to do the music again, has created a few demos, and everyone wants him so it makes sense...

I wouldn't say I dislike it....but the first thing I do after video settings is to turn off all music.

I'm in the same boat, I played the game once or twice with music on.

Doesn't mean it's bad music.

While I never played with music on, the music was really cool. Hell, they could use the same music with little to no tweaking.

I wish you were still playing then....so I can set a boomer under your ass since you can't hear me deploy it....assuming you are wearing something other then the awesomeness that is navy and gold.

Music didn't distract me from hearing things in my immediate environment. I loved PlanetSide's music.

I never had it really loud, just loud enough to be in the background. Only time I turned it off was when I was playing sneaking games in a nearly deserted base, where hearing subtle things like distant doors opening mattered.

It's weird... most of the songs were only a couple minutes long but I never got tired of hearing them, even after playing for several hours.

What's wrong with you?

There was constant background music.
It was subtle.
But it really was brilliant.

If you check your PS folder, in the 'sounds' directory, I think, there's actually separate files for each Empire for winning/losing.

I believe Don Ferrone, original PS scorer, has submitted his work for PS2, so we'll have to see what happens.
