One thing that I starting to have a concern for is how resources are going to affect the game play. Especially the aspect of pulling vehicles will cost resources.
My understanding is that resources can be depleted and it will prevent you from accessing certain things in game until more have been regained. I can definitely see instances where someone pulls a vehicle and gets killed and goes back to pull another one and gets yelled at for pulling to many vehicles and wasting resources etc. The casual players might feel more like a burden to their empire than an asset since they usually don't use voice com etc to maximize effectiveness and ability to pull back to repair before getting blown up. In PS1 this was a non issue as you could pull vehicles as soon as your timer expired and you owned the right facilities. Hopefully my concerns are unfounded but figured I would bring them up |

Resources are personal, so if you pull a vehicle you are using your own resources, not someone else's.
They have talked about getting resources for the empire and your outfit long ago, but as of now you get resources as a share of total resources owned on the continent and you get personal resource rewards for attacking/defending territory. |

the player who gets killed to often only depletes his ressourcepool. it doesn´t affect the pool for other players in any way.
the shape of the empire (territory) and maybe the number of players will determine how much ressources the individual soldier will get per minute. from then it´s completely to him what he wants to do with the ressources.

I would have preferred Empire or at least Outfit resources. Would require more teamwork and force players to think harder on what they plan to use their equipment on. Possibly minimizing the yahoo's who decide to kamikaze Galaxies into vehicle pads. Or hot droppers using their Mosquitos as personal super fast one-way-hotdrops.

I also want to see Outfit resources generated as a fraction of personal resources from outfit members.
The main reason is so outfits can supply common vehicles like Galaxies, Sunderers, etc that an outfit might use heavily without taxing the drivers of those vehicles. Since the game encourages specialization we'd want some players to be specialized in those vehicles but that also means they front the costs. It would be nice to have an outfit resource system with allowances much like MMORPGs like WoW and Rift use guild banks. That would at least allow common galaxy pilots, sunderer drivers, and others the ability to dip into the outfit bank for potentially expensive or heavily upgraded vehicles. |

a tax system would allow the outfits leadership to set a global tax on all members of its outfit from 0%-100%, so an outfit might want to set the tax to 100% but allow all vehicles to be fully subsidized to all members allowing the outfit to pool resources or set it to something like 10-20% but only allow certain members to pull certain vehicles at a specific cost reduction paid for by the outfits pool player A is the designated outfits Galaxy Pilot so the outfit leadership would give him/her permission to pull fully subsidized Galaxys but they also want the rest of the the Outfit to be able to pull them if needed so they can set a global subsidy of say 20% so anyone else who pulls one will only have to pay 80% of the cost. this can be done for all vehicles letting a Outfit decide were it wants its members to be spending their shared resources. |

since there seems to be no empire-wide ressourcepool, i have 2 ideas for outfit ressource management.
1st possibility: donation based. every soldier in the outfit can donate some of his personal ressources to the outfit bank. based on the outfit-rank soldiers can use those ressources for pulling specific vehicles. and if the giant outfit motherships or bases make it into the game, those are funded from the same bank. the only problem is potential bankleeching, but that can be prevented by forbidding the lowest outfit ranks to draw from the bank until they have proven trustworthy. second possibility is an outfit (ressources)subscription fee. outfits could set up a fee that every soldier will automaticly donate. but right at the moment he earns the ressources, to prevent soldiers from running low on purpose so they don´t have something to donate. whenever the share of ressources comes in, a part goes directly into outfit bank. if the empire doesn´t get any ressources because the enemy has cut them off on 1 ressource, the outfit gets nothing, no matter how much personal ressources some soldiers may have stacked. so it is always the same amount, every soldier donates and there is no need to keep track of leechers that never donate anything.

something along these lines: say your outfit is fielding a full squad and successfully caps a base the reward for the cap is lets say 1000 of each resource for each member in the squad.. the Outfits tax rate is set to 10% on all 3 resources (ignoring the station cash alternative resource) so each member would get 900 of each and the Outfit would get 1000 of each and of course this is all just based on assumptions on how the resource distribution is going to work |
