Liberator - Darklight spotlight

This involves mounting a darklight spotlight to the gunners position instead of any guns. it could be a useful tool to have for sweeping courtyards and without a gun would force coroperation between the lib and the ground forces. at night this would also serve as a spotlight.

from a clockers perspective this would also add some fun because you get to dodge spotlights as your sneaking around killing people.

Are you suggesting taking out the bombing mortar gun for a giant darklight searchlight for low altitude searching?

Dude! Love the idea, sounds all Terminator-ish! That would be awesome!

I like the idea, I very much like the idea, but it will simply be underused imo.

I LOVE things that are underused. The biggest concept in gaming that people don't understand is that people want a choice, even if they don't get it. If you only like playing a good guy, you want an option to be a villain, even if you never have or ever will play a villain. Having a bizarre layout allows you to use it for the situations that deem it necessary, and then there is the other outcome.

Gaming have always been renowned for being able to make use of the slightest, most unremarkable feature to their advantage. With pitchblack nights, a liberator with a searchlight with darklight capabilities is VERY useful. Imagine being in a firefight in the middle of the night, and just all of the sudden watching your enemies get lit up by a giant light and blinding them. All the sudden, you can see them, and they can't see you, instead of just neither of you being barely able to see the other. It would distract the enemies, blind them, reveal, and attract their fire away from the infantry as they try to take out the giant blinding light.

I think it has some VERY nice uses to it. Especially for base defense when looking for sneaking cloakers running in.

Only problem is that I don't think night time is dark enough. Looking at the videos you could play at night with no lights and still see enemies at a fair distance easily enough. I would like true darkness that makes it required to have lights so features like this would be used and at times need to be to find that squad sneaking around and light them up for all to shoot.

I believe they have the darkness change for each night. They HAVE said some nights WILL be pitch black dark. Who knows, they may add caverns with no light and such. So yeah, lights, searchlights, and darklights would very much be useful.

From what I could make out in the videos, the light source was from a moon and if that moon waxes and wanes like ours does for us in real life then some nights should be darker than others.

I would love to see this included for lots of vehicles! But more as a regular spotlight than darklight.

Would be cool at night to have the secondary gunner use a powerful spotlight that also gave the user better spotting abilities.

Big bright light to shoot at with no big guns? Bring it on!

Actually, I like the concept. Maybe have thermal camera or infrared spot light options so you don't look like a big bullseye. Then transmit spotted troop movement to empire mini map. May even work as a laze pointer.

I'm pretty sure I'll never use it, but it could be a fun option to have nevertheless.

I like the concept, but it has to be something that can be shot out and have to be repaired by an engineer. There needs to be something that can be done to counter it.

theres always AA. but being able to shoot it out, along with any other light in the game, would be badass.
