I'm a long time fan of arena and single player FPS(mostly unreal and half life series) and combat flight/space sims (X-wing, Rogue Squadron 1-3, Freespace 2, Eternal Silence). I prefer science fiction settings when i can get them, to the point where i actively avoid most fantasy and contemporary settings.

If the mood takes me, i create logos, wallpapers and avatars using autocad and GIMP. For example (and since i have no idea where else to put it) see the attachment for a 1600x900 VS wallpaper done in the style of the official art releases.

I never got the chance to play the original Planetside due to age, pc, and internet connection, but i remember being enthralled with the game in general and the Vanu Sovereignty in particular from a article in (the now defunct iirc) Computer Gaming World, which my high school library had slightly out of date issues of.

needless to say, i've chosen my faction, and look forward to fighting beside you!
