People drop the term "Spec Ops" way to loosely around Planetside. Your better bet would be to answer to yourself:
1. Do I want to be in a large or small outfit? 2. What does that outfit specialize in? 3. Will other outfits vouch for the outfit you're looking at? (ie. do they do what they claim or are they full of hot air?) |

O i always that spec op were people trained to carry out special missions not a average
soldier could do, it was never very secretive in my opinion. Black ops to me is the secret stuff that no one knew you or what you did.... |

That is correct. Hence why i said ask yourself those questions.
In the end, everything gets known anyway. It's only secret until first contact with the enemy is made. The secret part is just how well the preparation before that first contact is made and the plan executed to its intended result. The results still being known in the end regardless. |

Sounds like you're looking to do what is referred to as fast response as far as PS1 is considered. A lot of outfits that do that don't openly recruit, and those that do still want to play with you some before inviting you.
I'd take Hosp's advice, 'spec ops' in planetside isn't what you'd think it is. In the end, anything can be done by anyone, it comes down to knowledge of the game and teamwork to make it successful.

Special Operations is all too often a group of players that are just sick of the zerg. They attempted to disrupt benefits to the opposing empire in the hopes of sparker a smaller scale fight. The motivation for a small scale fight is usually spawned from repeated deaths from one’s own empire, due to bad aim/ judgment.
