Okay so this whole time I was thinking that the armours will match classes in this specific order.
Infiltrator (Light) Light Assault (Agile) Medic (Medium Armour?) Engineer (Medium armour?) Heavy Assault (Reinforced Exo?) MAX (self explanatory) However recently I have come across this article http://www.complex.com/video-games/2...de-2-hotties#1 that has me rather confused. Can anyone clarify if some of the classes can change armours at the cost of something? |

I must admit I had assumed that Light, Medic and Engineer would get the same arounr expect that Light additionally has the jetpack, Medic and Engineer their own accoutrements, but basically the same armour.

Ahh, i see what your getting at... The Light Medic/Heavy Medic etc. I wouldnt read too much into it, they are early concept art, its possible it might be an option in the future but i dont think anything has been said about it yet.

Armor in the stream yesterday was aesthetic, it wasn't actually functional as an upgrade. There may be sidegrades to improve armor capabilities, or reduce armor for movement speed, but I think the OP pretty much nailed it. I would guess that the medic has less armor than the engineer, but more health regeneration capabilities.

In the first game, we had armor instead of classes. Classes are really just a different (and somewhat more restrictive) version of having different armors.
In PS1, the armors limited how much you could carry, what weapons you could carry, and in a couple of cases (MAXes and Infiltrators) conferred some special abilities or other added restrictions. There is no freeform armor in PS2. Each class has their own look and style, with their own set of modifications they can make to their own classes armor. While LA is probably going to be considered the PS2 counterpart to Agile in PS1, there really is no such thing as agile armor or rexo armor anymore. There are only the classes. Ah okay understood. The translation from concept to model can be a bit confusing sometimes so thanks for the answers.
Speaking of concept art...has anyone notice the translation from concept to model (not to nitpick) is a bit different in result? I really like some of the concepts they've been putting out but when they model it out it has some missing pieces of armor or it doesn't look as well covered (The NC medic/NC REXO are some examples). I hope they add these in later for customization. |
