Hello all, I don't know if any of this has been discussed, but I feel that Electronic Warfare is an absolute must, it adds another dimension to the battles.
What I'm thinking is Electronic Warfare Modules on a Galaxy, allowing for radar jamming, lock on missles missing very frequently, and overall poorer communication with teammates. If this was implemented this would add more incentive for players to both defend and attack this Galaxy, as it could have a potentially tremendous impact on a battle, giving "mini objectives" in the game. I love flying aircraft in games, and I don't know if anyone here has ever played Ace Combat 6, but the way they have multiple objectives involving different types of targets is really awesome, and adding in Electronic Warfare in a manner similar to Ace Combat would be really spectacular. Thanks for reading! |

You could do something like Battle Star Galatica:Online.
You can equip electronic warfare items on your ship. Like increase damage by 15% to teammates within 200 metres increase maximum speed, increase maximum range etc. Or hacking which would lower ship turn speed, lower maximum speed and even lower damage, so maybe something along these lines. E-War could be a great addition, but I think your overall idea needs some refinement.
I think being specific to Galaxies is unnecessary. Maybe different vehicles can have E-War modules. This makes using large-group tactics for E-War Offense and Defense FAR more attractive and I'm in strong support of anything that makes teamwork+coordination more valuable! How about Sunderers, which in my mind needs some beefier support roles anyways? Engineers being able to build "towers"? Orbital EMP strikes? (similar to the CoD:MW2 mission in DC, if you're familiar with it) There are lots of ways to incorporate E-Warfare, and Planetside's theme/universe is perfect for interesting ideas. The ones I've given above are not novel ideas, though. I'd prefer to see amazing and unique ideas over rehashes of what others have already done. |
