I'm with ya on some parts of the trailer. I loved the music and vehicle gameplay but the animations were lacking for the infantry. The running animations specifically. Having players standing around shooting each other at close range is not something I would think to be 'trailer worthy'. It's not representative of what the game will be like. The NC MAX animations seem strange too. I understand they are trying to convey its weight and how difficult it is to move but it just looked strange.

Just my 2c.

They could of made the combat look a million times better.


It doesn't look good when you see two empire standing about 4 ft away shooting at each other, not moving

yeah Im not a big fan of the not moving, shooting at each other.


Also the running in the beginning looks weird, not sure why.....The voice acting was meh.

They should of just showed a massive war IMO....where people actually move when fighting and use good cover.


I liked the size always matters tho.

Actually, I think they've mentioned they use bots for testing at this stage since they don't have us to help them yet.

I didn't like the fact that in the video all the "players" were standing still. There should have been more infantry action.. people running at each other, as well as some "true fps" footage that Higby keeps talking about.

Anyway, I'll just give my opinion then.

I just thought the trailer was pretty lame (don't jump to my throat already).

The voices: acting pretty badly and saying shallow things. I think it'd have been much better without them.

The action itself: most of the ground action they showed is just guys standing there, firing.
Seriously? We waited that long to have something they already had in the very first trailer? Couldn't we have had some ground assaults? Guys running and pushing, with other guys or AirCav covering them?
I don't know, just something that doesn't make the game look like a first person tower defense.

It would have been good to have more explainations of the differences between the factions (in term of gameplay, too), beside the obvious skins and the voices. But that can be done later, so alright.

Also, I found it badly edited, badly done. It doesn't look like a 2012 game trailer. Just compare it to Shootmania Storm's first trailer, I know it isn't the same scale or the same kind of FPS, but at least they made it right and interesting to watch for someone who never heard of the game before.
If I wasn't a Planetside fan, that I never heard of the game before, and watched this, I would have been so bored I'd have left about halfway through the video.


Anyway, in the end I really feel that this trailer isn't as good as it could have been.
It really just looks like a giant clusterfuck to me.
I'll be very honest, I think this trailer isn't going to do any good to Planetside 2, and so I hope the 3 live demos will really deliver.

I liked the video. Much better than the last one;but the action between players was not enough. It needed more players being killed or tossed from explosions.
