For now it's a PC exclusive game. This generation consoles (and I have my doubts about the next gen as well ) wouldnt even be able to run the game.

I wouldn't worry about this question in a long time/ever.

I really don't think it'll get ported to this gen of consoles.
If it does, I doubt we'll be on the same servers.

Yeah based on what has been said it doesn't look like consoles are capable of running Planetside 2. Something about Forgelight and the netcode. Don't know much about it other than that.

if the specs Ive seen leaked for next gen xbox and playstation are anywhere near correct they would be able to play planetside 2 just fine.

ffs nintendo is going to be offering 1080p gameplay with its next console. from what Ive heard Microsoft and Sony are both shooting for consoles that will work with 4k monitors.

Exactly, because technology never matures and that "X" year old study that Microsoft did is valid for eternity.

I highly doubt PS2 will come to consoles. F2P has not got on consoles and i doubt will next gen.

Smed has hinted very strongly and repeatedly that Planetside 2 will end up on consoles someday. However, I'd be shocked if they were playing on the same servers as PC players. I think it will be more of a slightly scaled down version much like Everquest Online Adventures.

Not unless MS and Sony raise the limit on how much bandwidth an online game can use.

Also think about the patches,only the first patch is free,EA get charged 50k for every patch to BF3 by MS.

It wasn't the technology. It was the guys with controllers couldn't be as precise as guys with mice and keyboards, and they got annihilated.

To cut it short: PS2 wont appear on the PS3 or Xbox 360. Those two are just not powerful enough for the stuff the game does. Maybe PS4 or the new Xbox, but those are still far away.

Means, any topic about consoles related to PS2 are pretty much pointless atm.
