"Advertising experience" lol.

It goes without saying that this will never happen in a game from a company that is not a joke, and if it happens it will be burnt down.
Also combat arms is one of the scummiest f2p i've ever seen.

We have Vivox in EVE Online and it's fine and there are no ads.

Please, no fearmongering. PS2's F2P is supported by microtransactions, not ads.

APB has vivox without ads but it's pretty terrible and causes lag. I removed it and we just used vent instead.

Is my only reaction. I'd lol every time I die or respawn I get one of the "Tiger" chips ads or coca cola(popular and annoying adds over here)

Indeed. It seems to be a perfectly valid method of paying for a game, for those that do not wish to pay for it out of pocket.

Does anyone remember those highly immersive billboards from PS? Like when you were fighting a battle with Hovercraft Vehicles and Laser Weaponry, and than you take a note of that billboard "introducing Yaris and Yaris". *sigh*

Every SOE game back to Star Wars Galaxies uses the Vivox voice system WITHOUT ADS.

Useless FUD thread.

The only issue I really have with this types of advertising is that in general, there are so few messages that they tend to get repetitive quite fast.

Normally I just sort of "switch off" my attention when the ads come about on TV and your run of the mill Radio station, but the repetitiveness in the web app ads become intrusive and I just get annoyed.

But yeah, as long as the micro transactions keep the game afloat, I don't think we need to worry about it in PS2.

LOL, that was brilliant. I wouldn't mind such ads for comical relief!

Is Everquest 1's VOIP Vivox? If so, it sounded fine to me. And that was 3-4 years ago.

All of them that have it have always been vivox and nothing else. Never have they had ads in the voice chat.

Re: Vivox voice chat in PS2? Here's what to expect

There is no reason to assume PS2 will use ads in the voice system. In fact, it wont use ads there at all.

So stop trying to spread rumors if you lack facts, hmkay?
