High altitude bombing sounds good on paper, but from experience, as soon as you do 1 strafe of the target there is almost 90% of the time a Reaver / Mossie coming up to take you out.....
So you wont get to enjoy "high altitude bombing" for more than 10 mins at a stretch |

honestly the mortar could do SO much more damage and have a huge presence on the battlefield, but the trade off is the close encounters. I see the bomb drops being more specialized stealth tactics. I imagine it this way, a lib squad starts the raid with a nice carpet bomb and then the night ops make their way in after initial bombing. The trade off is less attacks per minute and the fear of team killing. oh, i wasn't sure if you were saying lib bombs we're going to be OP because they didn't have a counter...cause they do :P |

Rockets are not bombs... hovering in place high in the air while firing mortars or rockets is not bombing. >.< (unless of course we are dropping vertical rockets? o.o!) Got my hopes up... Maybe actual bombs will make it in someday. Last edited by The Janitor; 2012-06-11 at 03:49 PM. |

Yay that someone gets their old play style back, since it's so unobtrusive, I guess.
A resounding meh, for me: Lib high-altitude bombing was so boring. Much prefer the gunship-lib they've got and I favor a more close-in dive-bombing ability for the ES craft.

The only difference that I've noticed is that PS2's Libby cannons have far more control over aiming. You can actually point the turret near-horizontally and get some decent lateral distance. Whereas the PS1 Libby had to be virtually on top of the target at the time they released the bomb. As I see it, a cannon can do anything the PS1 Liberator could do and more. |

See, that's the cool thing about customization. I love high altitude support. I don't know what it is, but being that "god squad" in the skies gets me going. Especially when it's me and my 2 best friends squadding it up raining hell.

Could be that the gunner now has access to a zoom so he can clearly see smaller targets even if the pilot is staying at high altitude.
