The truth:

TR is an only legitimate representative of Earth's government determined in maintaining peace and order, fighting for the unification of human race against mislead bunch of idealist rebels and hardened criminals funded by corrupt power hungry corporations (see - NC) and extremist cult of fanatics determined to turn the humanity into race of living machine-like slaves by tempering with alien technology whose exact power and effect they don't truly know of (see - VS).

The TR hides behind words like "peace" and "order" to further their fascist agenda. They are shackled by tradition and the lust for power, too afraid to lead humanity toward their true destiny. The Vanu Sovereignty will show humanity their true potential. With these gifts that the Vanu have left behind, we will evolve into beings that are no longer slaves to bloodshed and tyranny.

It's obvious both the TR and Vanu are clearly insane in their own rights. The TR is a lying, paranoid fascist state who is incapable of providing any semblance of a decent life to it's citizens. The Vanu may think they are doing what is right, but their far-fetched beliefs have driven them to turn against humanity itself for the sake of some long-dead aliens they consider gods.

See guys, bat shit crazy supremacist transhumanist crap!

TR is the only pillar of democracy on Auraxis, NC mean to force their relentless corporate rules and logic (this corporatism is actually a prelude to fascism) on everyone while trying to mask it with ideas like freedom. VS on the other hand are bent on creating a society of super-beings (human-alien hybrids - a true monstrosity) and want to force their perverted vision of future on everyone.... TR is the only hope for humanity!

Tough times call for tough measures so some of TR actions can be considered too harsh and thus we are wrongly accused to be fascist but don't be fooled we are the good side actually...

Let me use this Chomsky quote: "In a democratic society, I mean it may be paradoxical, but the freer the society is the more it's necessary to resort to devices like induced fear."

All those lies (except the part about the VS) aside, let me counter that point with a quote by Franklin: "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."

I was leaning towards nc but after reading all of the backstory I am stuck between tr and vs. If Connery was still alive it would be a much different story. But seeing how it was a possible inside job it is hard to justify fighting for an organization with corrupt leaders as such.

Really? After reading the lore, I still went with NC. I mean, their roots are in some possibly seedy corporations, but the TR are the ones who made the inside powergrab, killed a bunch of civillians (along with Connery), blamed it on the NC and used it as an excuse to enact heavy-handed martial law.

NC may not be perfect, but at least they aren't cold-blooded murderers or insane fanatics.

Question though. The insurgents from the fleet, are they considered nc or a totally separate entity?

The Republic is attempting to shackle our progress out of a fear that humanity will become too powerful for it to control. Once the VS has won this war, we will shepherd our race into a new age of enlightenment. Our baser animal instincts will no longer hold sway over us and all war will be abolished. You claim to want only peace for humanity but your flawed ideology will only lead to more carnage in the future. Our evolution through technology is the only logical solution.

“All evolution in thought and conduct must at first appear as heresy and misconduct.” - George Bernard Shaw

Don't think they're NC. Evidently, there ARE insurgent groups, but the one that attacked and destroyed the civilian ship Discovery-7 (along with many, many civilians) appears to be a group acting on behalf of some high-ranking TR to both kill Connery (the TR commander who, actually seemed to be a pretty decent guy) and pin it on the NC to be able to crack down harder on any non-military. This includes the laborers and mercenaries that were sent by the original New Conglomerate on earth to help support Connery's mission.

Now that Connery is dead and the TR have stripped all it's citizens of their freedoms, the NC insurgencies are fighting to overthrow the oppressive rule and return some semblance of normal life to the non-military.

K that cleared up a lot for me. If what you say is true then I'm more swayed towards nc the most. Followed by vs and no want to play tr. I know it's a game but im basing my decision as if it were real life. Tr seem like the British and nc the colonist and this is the revolution. Though tr ways may have worked in the past. Change is sometimes needed. This is not earth. It is a new start since the wormhole has closed. The tr are too close minded and their leaders seem to greedy for the greater good. Especially if they are willing to commit treason against their own leader.

Good choice. I'm the same way; I find it hard to play on a side whose ideologies I don't agree with.

Also, the TR will deny it vehemently. They're good at "reasoning" things away.

I'll ask this again as so far no ones been able to answer me, if the Vanu were so mighty and great able to break the chains of death itself..... why are they all dead?
I'm guessing that all their inclusion of technology into the biology robbed them of their (we'd call it humanity) Vanuity and left nothing more than an insane echo that the VS now worship. The TR & NC don't really need to fight them to be honest, they'll wipe themselves out in due course but I won't sit by and be dragged to extinction with them.

and the NC a spurious holo recording delivered to their leaders by a traitor showing a supposed plot to kill the TR leadership by the TR, now here's where I snort with disgust. The girl wanted nothing more than to live and survive, she threatens two armed men and even pulls a grenade and blows everyone up... why it seemed to run counter to her survival instinct. I'm guessing she was programed by a third party to implicate the TR in the bombing and pull the attention away from the true culprits. TR and NC at each others throats who'd benefit the most from it?
I think we know who, at this time they're wearing lab coats of a purple extraction and having secret meetings to undermine and sow chaos in the fleet....... The VS
