It's because the use of a shotgun is so situational. The MCG is useful in many more places than the jackhammer. So is the lasher but less so. The jackhammer is useful indoors when they are less than 5m from you and that's about it. That's boring and a waste imho.

Jackhammer will be changed in my opinion, probably take away the 3 shot burst and change it to some type of tighter shotgun like the NC MAX unit could do in PS1

Yeah but the gauss was better outdoors and indoors than the cycler, and all the important fighting happened indoors. I don't want every faction's HA to end up an Assault rifle.

Well, since you've got an LMG in your other slot by default, it probably doesn't matter if HA is situational.

A lot of the important fighting isn't going to be indoors anymore though so I would really not like to see a faction specific HA shotgun for the NC.

I wouldn't mind seeing an automatic 50cal railgun with say 100-200rpm gun for HA. Keeps with the hard hitting slow rof mindset.

The TR will have two outdoor HAs in the LMG cycler and the MCG.

Railgun defines the mechanism for how the projectile is propelled. It doesn't have anything to do with the caliber of the projectile.

Yeah I'm thinking we're going to see a complete revamp. The balance between the different factions was way too situational. I don't think new players will be as forgiving as we were about such weapon imbalance.

Really hoping/expecting all factions to have a chaingun variant.

QFT... as much as I hate being blasted by it, I'd miss the old "ka-chuk, ka-chuk, ka-chuk". Jackhammers are iconic and mandatory inclusions in PS2.
