Yeah two suggestions in the thread I really liked:
-Don't always have the aircraft explode, sometimes systems should fail and you're riding to your death in the cold, dark cockpit heading into the cliffside. -When your aircraft explodes the debris should indeed be in a cone-ish area due to momentum, and you should remain in your soldier's first person view while you're falling to the ground IMO.

Get ur ass back in cdl. Btw let's keep this thread going. I'm liking the kill cam ideas. I really like the idea of the crashing aircraft vs the explodes in mid air every time. Riding it out in the cockpit would be fun as hell.
The whole falling into the dirt and watching the action continue on around you for a few seconds is pretty cool. The last few seconds before you wind up having your body cloned for the hundredth time for the night. Fade out to white or black for kill cam info, respawn. |

But seriously, I would love to see aircraft spinning out of control and crashing into the terrain. The only thing that would suck would be when you're on the ground in the middle of a kill streak when a flaming Galaxy splatters you like an insect. |

Personally, I would LOVE to see the air vehicle just fall from the sky, spiraling down in a uncontrollable spin, rather than popping like a balloon.
IL-2 does it absolutely, 100%, perfect. Can you imagine being in a massive fight, where aircraft from the dogfighting over head rain down in fireballs? Honestly getting shivers thinking about it. Last edited by Shade Millith; 2012-06-20 at 09:21 AM. |

This thread is an excellent example of mentioning something that could be improved without sounding like you're bitching and whining about it. Good points.
I'd love to see shit like debris falling with the momentum of the aircraft, seeing some pieces of debris explode on impact with the ground, see aircraft skid into huge fireball streaks as they crash into the ground or the side of a mountain, etc. Aircraft in real life tend ot have huge and amazing explosions due to their velocity and the fuel (and sometimes ammunition) that they are carrying, and I think it would add a lot to bring this into the game. I also agree about the death thing. Not just for vehicles and aircraft, but for infantry as well. I noticed in the E3 footage that sometimes it didn't feel so much like a player died, as much as it felt like they just suddenly got a randomly popped up death screen. Death should feel very visceral, and I think it's awesome how in the first game you watched your character die and fall to the ground in front of you. As much as I don't want to sound like I'm bitching to the devs for a new kill cam, I think it would be awesome to see a death cam added which just shows your character/vehicle dying for a second or so before the death screen pops up. You could have the option to click past it to instantly see the kill cam info as well, so it wouldn't have to slow anything down. It is still alpha, so I'm not particularly worried about any of this stuff as the game is still coming together and looking more and more astonishingly good every time we see something new, but these are more just thoughts on how I would like to see the final build look. Well, final build for release, since the game will keep evolving, possibly even visually, after launch. Tl;dr, deaths should feel very visceral, to match the epic feel of the rest of the game. |
