Here's a a little try:
It's a 3D model so you can see from every angel, and easily make an animation with it. I used 3ds max 4.2 and good ol' mspaint

honestly when it comes to logos, bitmaps are NOT the way to go. sure you've got alot of eye candy but there is no content. look at nearly all logos. extremely simplistic and memorable. thats what companies want. if people see it and immediately recognize it then perfect. job done. vectors is the best because of the way they turn out simplicitly, resize aspects, and the awesome way they can be manipulated.

colosus' point is a sound one.
when you make the "logo", take all the text away and look at it. does it suck? then its probably not a good logo.
