have practice servers. And what I mean by this are servers that aren't part of the actual game.
For instance, if I just wanted to practice flying and it not count for anything. Have outfit practices to learn spawn points, chock points, cap radius, c4 radiuses. Have outfit events like king of the hill ext. I completely understand that this is an MMO but it is also a different MMO, was just wondering. Please discuss. Maybe just some sort of server files for a small area just to practice. I would love to be able to explore every nuck and cranny of a station without worrying what the heck is going on around me. Or to grab a vehicle and no worry about crashing because it didn't count. Does this make sense what I a saying? Last edited by jepaul; 2012-06-28 at 06:06 PM. Reason: Title change |

Its not everyones who are use to all this but i also want a way to skip it lol since i dont want to get into all this but for the new comers it could be really nice |

I would love a VR training zone, providing it's impossible to gain any cert points while in there |

Lol, love it! Touche. But dang man. Epic reply like that demands a gif or something. Details man details. GIFSoup So Allen knew where to go practice. I'm just trying to find out where to go practice in PS2. Wait wait. I don't care about fing tut's. I'm asking about a private server, instance, or area, for outfit practices and things like that. |

I'm worried we'll have 50 outfits too busy practicing in their own little practice places to actually bother fighting over anything. So long as it doesn't take away from server pop I guess it might be ok. But seriously, can't you just practice while taking bases?

I want to take new recruits through boot camp and show them verbiage in game without having to worry about being killed or attacked. I want to be able to figure out how long the fall is on a bail out to the second so that a tank charge from the opposite side of the area hits at the exact same time. There are some many things I could do and figure out on a practice server that I could never do in game. And I also don't want stats to count. So I can take a new sniper recruit into a practice server and put him through tests to see if he qualifies over someone else in the outfit without the actual stats counting in game. IMO practice servers were what allowed me to take 62 guys onto a battle first in bf2 and be one well oiled machine. I also remember some of the best nights as an outfit playing kind of the hill with knifes only and the winner getting 50 bucks. But that worked because the stats didn't count. I want to hear more about the practice area in ps1 that nash talked about. Could you take groups of people into those? |

Yes, VR in PS1 had two areas. One for weapons and one for vehicles. The weapons area was a small room with equipt. terms and windows. You could shoot at dummy NPCs out of the windows. The dummy NPCs just stood still and took damage when you hit them. They don't move or anything though.
The vehicles area was much larger and you could do the things you are talking about in that area. I understand now. You want to use it as a recruiting tool. Sounds reasonable. Last edited by Crator; 2012-06-28 at 05:56 PM. |
