I guess it's just different for different people. I, personally, cannot stand the handling when not at max speed.

I drive atvs all the time in ps1, and I think they're great to control.
You have to be smart about turning because they move at such high speeds and it takes a few seconds for an atv to getti it's minimum turning radius, but after ~30 minutes of practice you can navigate easily.

And whoever said ps1 atvs couldn't get air, you've obviously never driven a wraith, those things bounce so much they might as well be considered air vehicles.

They bounce, but since gravity works funny on Auraxis leaving the ground feels really weird. There's also the problem that vehicles can't drive up a 30 degree slope without stalling out.
