LA needs some range from your list, else getting up high and to covering points won't be much use. I was arguing for a niche for it in another thread, but I've since realised its the jack of all trades combat unit, which some people enjoy playing. |

You're trying to decide who gets what without knowing the capabilities and niche of half the weapons. SMG? Where's that from?
This whole issue is a classic example of the idiocy of classes and class restrictions. Why they ever decided to revert to the straitjacket of a class-based character development system, I will never understand. Well, not if I'm being charitable. |

This. It's not like they'll be completely invisible. I mean that option was only talked about so far, not actually implemented as far as anyone knows yet and even then only if they gave up a primary weapon entirely, not just the sniper rifle.
Same with me. Which is why I guess I meant the LMG as more of a classification of weapon types that would include stuff like the Lasher or Jackhammer or whatever. I admit the OP is a New Player Question, but why did the thread get moved here when we're actually discussing stuff about the game instead of only answering questions for newbs?
Ah whatever. Huh? What could more Anti-Infantry than a Jackhammer/Lasher/Minigun? I think you meant Anti-Air or Anti-Vehicle/Armor for the secondary slot. Anyway if the LMG is inaccurate at 100m and the AR is inaccurate at 150m and I were a Heavy I would honestly rather use the AR 9 times out of 10. The Heavy Assault loadout seemingly has the following weapon slots:
Primary weapon - LMG/HA: LMG such as the Cycler ARV, Gauss SAW or Quasar. Or, Empire specific HA weapon such as the Mini-Chaingun, Jackhammer or Lasher. Secondary Weapon - Sidearm: Standard pistol-type sidearm. Repeater, Mag-Shot, Beamer, etc. Tool - Anti-vehicular launcher: One of a selection of anti-armour/anti-ground launchers, including the empire specific Striker, Phoenix or Lancer. Let HA have access to Assault Rifles, a lot of people dislike LMGs and the inaccuracies they have.
Assault Rifles are always a favourite and restricting them to the Medic will lead to the KZ3/BF3 issue where people only play Medic for the weaponry and have no interest in healing people. Let those that play Medic be those that actually want to be support. If you want HA to truly be the grunt, they need to be more appealing at longer ranges. |

I dont see why HA should be restricted like this I thought that this was the general purpose class that specialise in shooting shit and would know how to use everything, but have no other utility like Infil/Medics/Engi's.
