You could even race through the warpgates, like, your 'track' could span 3 or 4 continents that are connected by warp gates, and the finish line would be the same as the start, hey.

Maybe they could announce the race results on AGN.

Sounds like an oppertunity for a bookie!

i like the death race idead, just love to join a random bf1942 server with my friend grab a jeep and race all over the map

I like the idea. A bunch of uncloaked Wraiths vieing for position and totally confusing a battle would be pretty cool.

A pair of wraiths line up in a warpgate. A decloaked female infil sashays her little hiney in front of them. She animates a Wave, and the race is on!

If I found out one of these was going on, I'd either be participating, or planting mines along the race route.

The only problem I see with inter-empire races is the fact that you cannot communicate with them beyond verbals (if you're close) and animations.

Perhaps if alt-tabbing is fully supported you could keep a chatroom going in the background.

Heh, that's what would make the race so fun . . . you KNOW people would catch on to what's happening eventually, and then the race would get REALLY interested.

I would also like to try and organize a big 'peace rally' at the Warp Gate, where everyone on a continent shows up and we can play volleyball or something . . . and then have the Mother of All Battles if we feel like it.

Planetside has bikes? as in two wheeled dirt bikes? if so i'm just that much more excited about this game

i though the basilisk was going to be the smallest vehicle, it would be really cool to have motorcycles with like a machine gun on the front or something. motorcycles are dinately a must have

oooooohh the possiblities are nearly endless. all the different terrain, all the different vehicles, all the different possible courses. you could race to a tower and then to the top of it, that way youd have to get out of the vehicle you were riding in, and sprint to the top, or if youve got MAX vanu armor, jump rocket. you could obviously have jumping contests with Vanu MAXs too.

Ooooh. Kindof like the Baja 1000.

Start at the warpgate with no weapons. Standard Armor.
Get to tower A.
At the top of Tower A is a Vanu. Do NOT SHOOT HIM. Go to him, he drops a pistol for you. Pick it up.
Get to tower B.
At the top of the Tower is a Terran. Go to him and he drops a cycler. Pick it up.
Get to the secondary Warpgate.
Whoever gets there first with the correct loadout (you don't tell the players beforehand which weapons will be given out) is the winner.

This requires several players who will not be participating in the race but mostly waiting around for racers to come to the tower, a judge start and end warpgate, and a great deal of planning. And luckily, we have a great resource in the PS OpCenter that this could actually be put together with. Perhaps in a non-outfit general op section.
