Heres a concept for the 2 main characters in a WIP webcomic for the http://Vanu-Coalition.com

Its a brother and sister 12 and 8 years old, he's holding a rifle and they are the face of the war, the face of a recruitment program called "we're doing our part"

While i see your point i must press that i do not mention forced, but thats down to how you define it

I think the Rebirthing tech that's used in Planetside fiction makes the "death" thing a non issue.

Of course dying will still hurt like hell. Maybe you could do a play on that.

I would suggest increasing the age of the characters.

Instead of 12 and 8 make it 17 and 14.
Some people might be a bit uneasy by how young the characters are.

o.O I don't see how else it could logically happen but by force... children simply do not have the cognitive capacity to make an evaluated decision of such magnitude or the ability to see it through...
