It depends on how deep the squad based combat is in the game. My prospective outfit is mainly an armoured spearhead, but I would love to provide some air support in the form of a liberator being the pilot. However, I keep getting the feeling theair will be saturated, bad for a liberator, so I dould be playing on the ground.
On the ground, I want to feel part of a specialised squad, be it a hacking team, but I'm even more hopeful of being in a dedicated squad of engineers, making a certain point completely impenetrable with series of turrets and a maze of AT mines. If recon in the game is something valued more in this game, a spotting and sniping team would be incredible. Sorry for the long post, I just have so much I'd like to do haha! |

I want to focus on infiltrator, not so much sniping but as a cloaker infiltrating bases and hacking gens and anything else i can get my hands on. When im not doing that ill be providing intel to my outfit/empire. Im really hoping they have rifles for the infiltrator other than sniper rifles, or at least some semi auto sniper rifles, if they have those im set.
When im not playing infiltrator ill probably be playing medic and engineer. So i can help my team out, whichever is needed the most. Ill mess around with flying and tanking some to get a feel for it to learn how to do it, but will probably at the start just focus on infantry, because like most of this thread reads, a TON of people will be in the air, so theyre gonna need people on the ground. Im gonna practice until i get as good as i can at the infiltration gig. Dont know why that appeals so much to me but just sounds like a blast. I think the reason is because in this game infiltrators have an actual job, instead of how they end up in most shooters, being very sittuational or stuck being snipers. Now dont get me wrong i like sniping too, im not knocking it, or its usefulness, but you know yourself if you ever played bf3,or any of the games like that most of the time the recon classes end up sitting somewhere out in right field not really helping their team, even when i snipe i try to be helpful and not just sit in one spot the whole map a million miles away on some mountain or something. I like the way this is settup because of the size of the maps you can actually do some flanking, real flanking not that shit they sell on cereal boxes lol. All jokes aside though alot of times in games the best flanking routes are blocked because the map ends there and if you go off the edge of the map its considered almost like exploiting or cheating , so itll be nice to have that tactical option that even though it may be a longer walk its safer and a better option in which youre less likely to be seen and your mission of sneaking behind enemy lines successful. All that aside my main focus I plan to make on teamwork. Thats whats got me excited the most about this game, the possibility for real teamwork. I'm very tired of supposedly team based games that end up being you and a bunch of random people that even though theyre in a squad might as well not be because they dont cover each other, dont revive etc.I think these games can best be described as single player games with mulitplayer elements. Its sad to say but in most BF3 games id trade my pub teammates in for a bot set on the slowest and lowest difficulty setting, just because i knew theyd actually help instead of just shove me into an enemy or block the door or bitch about hacks for an hour lol. So I plan to focus on being the best team player i can. |

I will hunt down and eliminate enemy Infiltrators, especially Snipers, with extreme prejudice as I did in PlanetSide 1. Especially so if they are Terran Republic.
If they add a cloaking mechanism to the Flash (like the Wraith in PlanetSide 1) I'll probably be fooling around with that most of the time harassing enemies from behind the front line. If they ever add anything like the Phantasm to PlanetSide 2, ohhhh. That thing was sweet. Instant squad appears from out of nowhere and just goes haywire, especially if you have multiple Phantasms. I would dig that. |

Since pilots and drivers are pretty taken care of in my outfit I'll likely go the HA/MAX route.

Combat engineering. EVERY Terran should know how to lay land mines and wield a glue gun, or they're doing it wrong.
The Mossie also intrigues me. Our armor may be gimped, but having the fastest aircraft means the Terran Republic will rule the skies -- IF we have enough people who are interested in pure air-to-air. I never learned to fly in any game I've ever played, but I'll learn for this one. I'll even go get a decent joystick. |
