According to Matt Higby in this gamespy review (at the very end for reference) 'closed beta begins sometime in the next month or so'.

Well since the press embargo was lifted yesterday I am going to assume the same thing I assumed during the Command Center video; that interview is probably two weeks old. Again though, I am just speculating.

Doesn't that fall into the timeline that the tech test will take 1 to 2 weeks depending on how well it goes ?

2 weeks to the start of next month, I can wait that long, I'd rather the tech test was done right. I know they did say it would take 1-2 weeks, but they made sure they said that could change.

Closed beta won't start until the tech test is complete and the servers can performantly run a full load (2,000 concurrent users).

*they don't know for sure when that is yet*

That's basically it unfortunately. They keep saying the same amount of time over and over in every interview even if the following interview was a week after the last one it's still within the next month or 1-2 weeks.

Several post: Higby has specified that Beta will be this month (July). On a Tweet By Smedly he says that they are trying to get a European server up for
techno test in Europe , this week. Now being that today is the 18th, July is almost over so we only have a little under 2 weeks for the beta if all goes as they planed.
On the Planetside2 webpage they have a countdown clock to Wednesday July
25th for the premier of the Official Planetside2 trailer. I am hoping that the release of this trailer will coincide with the launch of Beta.
