I've learned not to get to excited about dates anyone in the SOE team puts out there. Just leads to tears. and hurt. and mental agony.

Still no beta key for me mind you so it doesnt even matter, blarrrgh, I've had Planetside 1 since shortly after its launch and still no keeeey

Don't need a key if you're using your vet account.

Everybody needs to remember they plan on inviting people in "waves". It might be a couple months before the last invites go out and maybe next year before open beta.

Next year is really going out on a limb... Once they're fairly comfortable they can get a server to full capacity without problems, no reason Beta can't ramp up quickly to get all the priority invites in. No level system means no fear of overpopulated newbie zones.

Also, no reason they'd be giving out so many keys if they didn't want the beta testers. Unless its been their intention all along to completely piss off all the vets and key bearers.

Couple months for all priority/vet invites is a more realistic, though outside possibility.

Also I think I have seen someone through the PS2 tweet account state that they are aiming for an 2012 release.

Not 100% sure though.

I dont really care when launch is. When open beta starts, its probably totally irrelevant whether we play OB or launch. Dont think they will wipe between OB and Launch anyways.

This is a good thing, it is now nailed down to a specific week rather than a 'maybe' of two weeks. Look at this way, set the 5/8 in your head and you won't be disappointed, if they move it back a week there really isn't any need to live is there?
