2.9 GHz
6 Gb RAM
500 watt power supply
And an ATI Radeon HD 4890

Both the power supply and the graphics card were given to me by a coworker, before that (prepare to shudder) integrated graphics. Hooray low/mdium settings!

well its not for PS2, but once im all setup at my new house, i plan on dropping about 3,000 on building my own PC. i can get some good deals on parts if i do it myself (and no i cant get you parts, sorry.) but i plan on going in to the dual, quad core area, with atleast 2 vid cards, overclocking EVERYTHING and then going to cryo cooling for sub zero internal temperatures.

I am sure I will throw some money down just to show my support even if I don't really want the station cash.

In total i spent about $650, including tax and a new case. The only thing i kept from my old system was my Raptor 150gb HD(and now i want an SSD lol).

Core i5 3550
Radeon 7770
8 GB's RAM

Blacklight Retribution occasionally dips to 50 FPS, but if i turn Dynamic Lights off I'm back at 80 FPS constant. Game looks great either way(shallow game though).

This little budget rig has been able to hand everything i throw it at and more, I'm very proud.

You can't really factor that in as a cost though. You'll be able to run many OTHER games outside of Planetside 2, so you aren't exactly paying that much for the game specifically.

I'm constantly holding back my "I wanna upgrade nooooow.
But it's always that little niggling "well I should upgrade so I can try the beta".

Then my logical tightar*se kicks in:

1. You have no idea when/if you will be in beta
2. You should wait until the actual launch.

But then again there may be floods increasing hard drive costs so you never really quite know...

I think since sandybridge it's ok to buy whenever. I'll only go entry/mid level GPU anyway. Sub 100 sterling gfx

Re: How much does Planetside 2 really cost you?

about $1400 . . . that'll probably go up to like $1700 when I upgrade the graphics card again, then a few hundred more when I add some more RAM and a better cooling system.

i7 3770
z77 mobo
8gb 1600mhz RAM
gtx 560 ti

the rest was on like, hd audio, 7.1 speakers, hd big arse monitor. and a comfy chair. a really bloody comfy chair, some turtle beaches, and razer gear.

I save my money, don't spend on too much, so when the time comes, I can get myself real nice stuff

Quality over quantity friends.

0.00 as I made this one a year ago:
http://specs.tweak.to/17982

I'm thinking of upgrading the graphics card though.
The GTX460 is running at Core: 800MHz, Memory: 1900 MHz, but I'm unsure how well it'll receive PS2.

Have an i7 laptop with a 560M as well, but I'm relunctant to even try PS2 on it.
(Last laptop's graphics card was fried by Starcraft 2)
And then a budget Athlon II X2 @ 3.5 GHz with a 5770.

Have yet to see a need for more then 4GB of RAM, so they're all equiped with that ammount
(Well apart from a software for my thesis, but that's all behind me now)

I have a AMD 4100 @ 3.6ghz (stock). 8GB of 1600mhz RAM. I just upgraded from an horrific 6450 to a OC MSI 6850 1GB. I know it's all speculations at the moment, but what could I expect to play PS2 at? I play BL:R at 60fps on ultra.
