No, you tell me, what's the point of saying beta would maybe start on particular dates if was unplayable and "big enough list to work on"??? So, this list cropped up in 4 days right?

I can wait for beta, I'm just upset that reading between the lines and how things are going, that some of the folks at SOE cares more about the image/hype at this moment more than actual fleshing out bugs and such. And getting this beta started so they can hopefully meet their Q4 deadline/release.

Me thinks someone high up is actually afraid of negative feedback/view of the game that would surely leak out despite NDA. Hence them wanting the beta to be "awesome" for us.

I mean, I love the PS2 devs, but geez, it's like everyone here are such fanboys (I'm one for sure) that you all are scared to critique anything they do that might seem negative.

In a realistic sense, would you prefer that they don't take proactive measures? And then if these fears that you believe SOE to have come to be, PS2 will crash and burn from negative publicity? The game needs numbers so it needs people to be interested in it. Bad word of mouth isn't going to bring in many. Personally, I'm fine with the beta being delayed as long as they feel it's needed as long as it pumps out a successful and fun game in the end.

It's a dang beta, why so scared of negative feedback from that? Isn't that what REAL betas are for? Or is this in fact what some have stated... this phase will be a glorified demo with bugs? Or is there someone at SOE that cares MORE about the hype (usually a non gamer PR person thinks this way) than actually relying on the game's talent? Or is it a combo of the above?

I say, if they are confident in the game, let it show, and the hell with all the "bad word of mouth". Oh wait, that can only be if there is something truly bad in... in *gasp*... the beta!!!

Did you ever consider the problem that caused this setback has nothing to do with the game at all? Maybe they have a server problem or a problem with the system to email out the invites or many other things that could have an issue come up that you as someone in a beta have nothing to do with fixing.

Did you even read Smed's tweet with the explanation why the beta dates he tweeted last week was delayed???

Nope. Wasn't aware that existed. I just saw you arguing about something you can't change.

Edit: Now after reading it, it sounds like they're making sure something is playable by a mass number of people before letting in those people. That sounds perfectly fine to me. If you can't actually play you can't really test. It would just end up with tons of reports about it being broken and having us wait for that to be fixed anyway.

Seriously they delay beta delay beta same old strory. SOE says Monday or Tuesday definetly. Soo we ge to wait till we die.
BTW:If Clegg wont cut his hair until release he will look like caveman due those delays.

That's really far too much work. With 40 replies a page once I've missed more then 3 pages I usually don't bother reading back. Someone, like yourself, will point out that I'm misinformed and I can easily go and correct it.

The point of a beta is to let players into a game so they can do things the paid testers hadn't thought of and find any bugs that way. They pay people to find the obvious problems.
