They should have learned by now to just not announce dates.

Words like "progress" and "soon" leave them much more margin for error. And let's be honest, they rarely hit announced dates.

And it would provide significant less butthurt, QQing and :@ing for a lot of the 'community' . . .

The point of a beta is to let players into a game so they can do things the paid testers hadn't thought of or tried and allow them to find any bugs that way. They pay people to find the obvious problems.

We clearly have different opinions on what is related. Different opinions...shocking, I know.

I'm sure they have a completely new build for the beta and that is what they're testing. New things were added, others were tweaked, and when testing to see if it could work for beta release something came up.

I dont think the "rather wait for them to make the good game" is any kind of valid argument when we're talking about closed beta starting. With that ideology there would be no beta testing and we would just wait for them to release a finished product.

That said, naturally I'm a bit bummed by the delay, but I can wait, so I'm not QQing or ranting per se, but I just think the argument is sorta ridicilous when we talk about beta

they didn´t want to give out any exact dates, but the kiddys kept asking them and crying for more info all the time...

i was surprised when smed finally posted an exact date and it was so clear that something would postpone it since murphy is always watching.

and everybody who is butthurt about a few days the beta is delayed, shut up and be happy that planetside 2 is not duke nukem forever! or huxley...

Pretty much this.

I can't imagine what the wait has been for some but seriously there are alot of good games out there to keep your mind off PS2 at least for a few weeks. For alot of us this game has everything we need in ONE game to last us a lifetime. (hopefully) Huxley my god was i lookin forward to that until i got into a closed beta of some sort. pfffft.

Anyway myself I just finally beat batman: arkham asylum. Slept on that game for a long time and picked up it and its sequal for cheap on steam. Great game.

I for one do like it when they announce dates even if it does lead to disappointment every once in a while, its better then stumbling around in the dark without a clue.

And who knows maybe they will over-estimate the amount of work they had to do and open it up earlier then then Friday. I mean its possible if they under-estimated the amount of work they had to do for Monday/Tuesday.

I like exact dates as well, since it lets us know they're doing their best for us. It's better than having no communication and letting people toil over when it'll finally happen and just lose hope. We now know it's likely within the week at the very latest - and that's what's important, we know it's soon and can actually prepare for it.

Its possible man I know they have been quiet as hell on twitter today compared to the weekend. There could be other reasons for that of course but I like to believe they are busting ass to bring us this game. Nothing from their dev team, that I have seen, screams that they aren't passionate about this game and want others to experience it asap.

I'm still tryin to score that beta key on twitter though so I can still do something else with my time lol.
